ATTLEBORO, Mass. -- A teenage boy had gone outside from his Holden Street residence late this morning when a stranger tried to pull him toward a wooded area, according to the police. The boy got away and his father took him inside. The report to Attleboro police led to a helicopter search into the afternoon of woods and swampland behind the residence, according to Attleboro police Capt. David Proia. The police described the suspect as a 6- or 6-foot-1 male, with long curly brown hair, a white shirt with red lettering and possibly a flame on it, as well as black pants. Attleboro police cordoned off the area and called in the Massachusetts State Police, who brought a dog and helicopter to search for several hours. Proia said the Attleboro police have a "person of interest" in custody on an unrelated matter. to whom they planned to talk about this matter. -- projo.com staff writer Michael P. McKinney |
