Cranston police Maj. Ronald T. Blackmar said at noon that the city is facing no major flooding problems. He said the Pawtuxet River, a perennial trouble area, was lower than normal heading into the storm, which has helped to keep the roads clear. Blackmar said authorities will be monitoring some frequent problem spots, including portions of Fletcher Avenue, Davis Avenue, Fordson Avenue and Wilbur Avenue. -- Journal staff writer David Scharfenberg |
