PROVIDENCE -- You can check out the renovated Dunkin' Donuts Center, which reopens this weekend. The free-admission open house at the Dunk tomorrow is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event does come on a day when Tropical Storm Hanna could deliver strong weather to the region. Some of the things slated for tomorrow: There's the Providence Bruins trophy display, a fan shoot out, and more. And some guest appearances: New England Patriots player Jarvis Green and a Monster Truck driver. There's a free-throw contest, and people can make their own own sports broadcast. The plan is also for music, prize giveaways, Guitar Hero challenge, and more. See the full listing of what's in store tomorrow. "The Public Open House will offer patrons an exclusive behind the scenes look at the newly renovated building," says a message on the Dunk's Web site. "With interactive games, contests, dance lessons, facility tours, and more, it promises to be an exciting and fun-filled experience for the whole family." Today, fans were in line for tickets to see the champion Boston Celtics, who will play in Rhode Island for the first time since 1999 this fall when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers in an exhibition game at the Dunk. |
