WASHINGTON -- Rhode Island Attorney General Patrick Lynch and Suffolk (Mass.) County District Attorney Daniel Conley are calling for more education funding to prevent students from dropping out of school. The two officials will be in Washington today for the release of a new report showing a link between violent crime and high school dropout rates. The report was prepared by the children's advocacy group, "Fight Crime: Invest in Kids." The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. today at the National Press Club in Washington. -- The Associated Press |
