PROVIDENCE -- Four of the more than 30 suspected illegal immigrants arrested on adminstrative charges while working for cleaning contractors at state courthouses last month are now facing criminal charges, the U.S. Attorney's office said late today.

U.S. Attorney Robert Clark Corrente's office said the following suspects have been criminally charged:

* Eli Veliz-Coleman, 23, of Ford Street, Providence, is charged with document fraud for allegedly possessing a fraudulent Alien Registration Card, and with identity theft for allegedly possessing identification documents in another person's name.

* Juan Carlos Martinez-Martinez, 23, of Dorchester Avenue, Providence, is charged with document fraud for allegedly possessing a fraudulent Alien Registration Card.

* Olga Marina Vasquez-Palma, 28, of Atwells Avenue, Providence, is charged with document fraud.

* Susand Vanessa Veliz, 31, of Ford Street, Providence, is charged with document fraud and identity theft.

Agents arrested Veliz and Veliz Coleman at the Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal in Cranston, and Martinez-Martinez and Vasquez-Palma at the Licht Judicial Complex in Providence, according to the news release from Corrente and Bruce M. Foucart, special agent in charge for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The complaints were filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court, Providence.

On July 15, immigration agents and the state police arrested 30-plus suspected illegal immigrants on administrative immigration charges. They were working as janitors in the state courthouses. They were employees of TriState Enterprises, a North Providence cleaning company, and Falcon Maintenance, another cleaning company.
