Boston police: Sightings of man and daughter not credible

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- Boston police say several reported sightings in the Turks and Caicos islands of a man and his 7-year-old daughter he allegedly kidnapped are not credible.

Employees at an auto store and a convenience store said they recognized Clark Rockefeller and his daughter, Reigh, as the people they helped Thursday.

But Boston police spokesman Eddy Chrispin said today that police investigated the sightings and ruled them out. Chrispin says "it definitely was not him."

Rockefeller and his daughter were last seen at New York City's Grand Central Terminal on Sunday, hours after he allegedly ran off with her during a supervised visit in Boston. The girl has been living in London with her mother.

Many other reported sightings have been made, but none have panned out.
