Pawtucket-based Hasbro and Canton, Mass.-based Reebok have teamed up to create a Monopoly sneaker

You run in running shoes, you bowl in bowling shoes, now you can play a board game in equally appropriate footwear.

The Pawtucket-based toy company, Hasbro has collaborated with Canton, Mass.-based sneaker giant, Reebok to create Monopoly inspired sneakers to coincide with the release of a new Monopoly game, "Here & Now: the World Edition."

Think of the game's essentials: hotels, Monopoly money and community chest cards -- but on your feet. The sneakers will be available for men, women and children. The first design, which references the Monopoly playing board, is set to roll out later this month ranging from $40 to $85.

A second design will be introduced in November, and will feature some of the trinkets and avatars associated with the game: houses, hotels, chance and others. The suggested retail price will also be $40 to $80.

"We have a strong fan-following for Monopoly, and now consumers can wear what they play in high style," Bryony Bouyer, senior vice president of licensing at Hasbro, said in a statement.

"The game of Monopoly transcends all age groups and we are excited to join with Reebok to create a footwear collection that will do the same."
