PROVIDENCE -- The 2-year-old boy who died after falling from a third-floor window in the city's Silver Lake section has been identified as Tyler Charland, according to the police report. At 9:27 last night, the police went to assist fire personnel at 218 Sterling St., where the boy fell. The police spoke to Diana Ung, 23, the boy's mother, who stated he was jumping around on a single box spring in his bedroom that was placed alongside the side window, the police report says. Tyler fell out of the window, described as wide open, and he landed on the concrete. A rescue truck took the boy, who had serious injuries, and his mother to Hasbro Children's Hospital. The police said he died shortly after midnight today. -- projo.com staff writer Michael P. McKinney and the Associated Press |
