Mary Ruggieri, who lived in Cranston from 1912 until one year ago, celebrates her 103rd birthday today at Pocasset Bay Manor in Johnston, where she now resides. Brian S. Loynds, executive director, gave her a bouquet of birthday balloons to celebrate, along with cake and other gifts. "She loves to play cards -- it helps keep her young -- she's very active, like someone thirty years (or more) younger," he says.
