CENTRAL FALLS -- A Central Falls man was arrested yesterday and charged with assault after a police chase that ended at a Dumpster behind a drug store. According to Chief Joseph Moran, 41-year-old Lewis Reynolds and Jose Diaz, 29, were arguing on Tremont Street near Hadwin Street yesterday shortly after 1 p.m. Reynolds allegedly stabbed Diaz in the abdomen, and then ran away, Moran said. The police found Reynolds behind a Dumpster at Rite Aid at 1114 Broad St. He was arrested and faces a charge of assault with intent to commit a felony, and obstructing police. Diaz was taken to Rhode Island Hospital and yesterday he was listed in stable condition. The police say they do not know the cause of the argument; the incident is under investigation. -- projo.com staff writer Brandie M. Jefferson, with reports from Journal staff writer Tatiana Pina |
