CENTRAL FALLS -- A Massachusetts man and woman wanted in connection with the shooting of a 17-year-old boy outside his house early Thursday morning have been arrested.

Jeremy Palma was playing basketball with his 13-year-old brother in front on his house on Fuller Avenue just before 2 a.m. when a car drove up and a conversation ensued. Someone pulled out a gun and shot at the boys, hitting Jeremy Palma in the thigh. He was treated and released from Rhode Island Hospital.

Fall River Police arrested Jesse Robertson, 31, of Flint Street, Fall River, and Samantha O'Shea, 23, of Doyle Street, Fall River, yesterday in Fall River, according to Central Falls Police Chief Joseph P. Moran III.

Robertson and O'Shea were arraigned in Fall River District Court. Robertson was arraigned on a charge of possession of cocaine and on a charge of being a fugitive from justice in connection with the shooting in Central Falls. O'Shea was arraigned on a charge of intimidating a witness, false report of a motor vehicle theft, possession of marijuana and being a fugitive from justice in connection with the Central Falls shooting.

Both were ordered held without bail, pending a pretrial hearing Aug. 14.

The shooting stemmed from an argument about a pit-bull, which Moran said Jeremy Palma had nothing to do with. During the conversation with the two after they drove up to the boys, police say Jeremy Palma apparently gave "attitude" and Robertson allegedly shot him in the leg.

Patrolman Joseph Tougas located the car parked in front of a fire hydrant on Summer Street which connects with Fuller Avenue, and ran the license plates which lead to the two suspects, Moran said.

Moran said that Central Falls Police will wait to see if the two waive extradition before filing charges.
