A one-way ticket on the Providence-to-Newport ferry will cost an additional $3 because of increased costs of diesel fuel, the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority announced today. RIPTA said a fuel surcharge has been added this week to the cost "due to unprecedented increase" in diesel fuel costs.
