Gasoline prices in Rhode Island have dropped for the first time in six weeks, according to AAA Southern New England. The average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded gasoline is down one cent to $317.9 at the self-service pump, according to AAA's weekly survey. AAA attributes the slight drop to a drop in oil prices. A year ago at this time, Rhode Islanders were paying $2.609. Despite the slight drop in gasoline prices, diesel fuel prices continue to increase. The average price for diesel fuel is $4.149, up five cents since last week.
