PROVIDENCE -- Governor Carcieri is combining the state's two economic development agencies, the state Economic Development Corporation and the In a statement today, Carcieri said the EDC will now oversee the council, an influential advisory group made up of leading business and political figures. The council will retain a separate advisory board.
